Musashi's...a LO w/a little Asian Flair!

"The force is strong with this one." ~ Darth Vader, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope

My mojo force that is! LOL! I've been on a total LO roll recently & am definitely glad because most of the time I'm either hot or cold. My mojo is either totally on or totally off...no in between. Are any of you crafty peeps like that too? I absolutely despise it when I have crafter's block too. Not fun. But, speaking of fun, that is definitely what I had while whipping up this LO of me, the hubby & two of our very good friends. We recently went on a double date with them to Musashi's, a Japanese Steakhouse in OKC. Our hubbies, who have been BFF's since H.S., share the same birthday (how cool is that?!) & we had a blast...especially when it came to me drinking sake for the first time. Yeah. Sake. Interesting, needless to say. Still gonna have to add a hidden journaling spot to get in all those fun memories! Fun Fact: Did you know my hubby & I met via a blind date...set up by these two! Talk about good matchmakers...love ya Len & Amy!!

Supplies
Cardstock - American Crafts (pink), DCWV (yellow)
Patterned Paper - Prima (blue/pink flower), Sassafras (pink/white), Stampin' Up (pink damask)
Flowers/Swirls & Studs - Prima

Distress Ink - Tim Holtz (walnut stain)

Adhesives - Glue Glider Pro, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Asian Fan/Umbrella - Gauche Alchemy Mixed Media Kit (i loved adding this fun lil twist to the LO!!)

Once again, this LO was designed with a specific challenge in mind...the Easter challenge at Lasting Memories! I decided to use more of the Easter color palette & really like how it turned out. This is the last LO I needed to do in order to finish linking up & be eligible for a spot on their DT. So, wish me luck because I love their site & would love to be part of their team!! If you would like to try for a spot, just visit their blog HERE & play along with all of April's challenges...you have until April 30th to complete them. Pick of the Patch...Easy Masking w/Glimmer Mists!

Happy Easter crafty peeps! And, although it is Easter, today I am sharing a fall LO for Your Memories Here that features a day spent at the pumpkin patch. I don't always scrap 'in season' but rather what moods suit me and sometimes, you just get so tired of seeing certain colors or themes that are associated with certain holidays. So although this is a fall themed LO, I made sure to use bright spring/summer colors to make it a little more trendy & fun!

Supplies
Letters/Date Spot/Fall Sticker - Making Memories
Punches - Stampin' Up, Martha Stewart
Adhesives - Glue Glider Pro, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Distress Ink (walnut stain) - Tim Holtz
Bingo Card/Chipboard Butterflies/White Mat/Pen - Stash

I love upcycling & the kraft cardstock was Prima transparency packaging in a former life. After trimming it to a 12x12 size, I laid some chipboard butterflies down & used my TA Chalkboard Glimmer Mists to spritz them. After removing them, I had the fun masking effect & then I just traced & cut a few of the same butterflies to add some more dimension. You can use any item, found or purchased, to mask with & don't be afraid to use fun things like mesh, tape, bubble packaging and more. Just try something new & fun!! And, it's always easy to have fun when using some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists...which are still on sale for one more week at the Your Memories Here Store; check the amazing sale out HERE! For great glimmer mist inspiration, check out the YMH DT Blog HERE!

Now, I am off to gorge myself on Mt. Dew & candy, specifically chocolate candy bars, because that is what I gave up for Lent this year. And while I am not Catholic, I always participate in Lent because I enjoy what this Holy holiday means & feel it is the least I can do to give up something so insignificant for a man who gave up His life for me. My faith & love in the Lord is strong & I can feel myself reconnecting during the season of Lent. I don't always share my faith on my blog, but I hope you don't mind, and maybe next year, if you'd like join me in giving up something during the season, give me a shout & we'll do it together!! Lots of love, blessings & thoughts of happy craftin' coming your way!

I'm also entering my LO into the following rockin' challenges!

CropStop - Colors of the Rainbow

Relax....with YMH & a FAB Tattered Angels SALE!

Sometimes there is beauty in simplicity. And, this simple card I whipped up also incorporates a beautiful yet easy misting technique. Throughout the month of April Your Memories Here is featuring Tattered Angels products & having a fabulous sale on them as well! I made this card by laying a Tattered Angels mask on some TA cardstock, then spritzing it with TA Chalkboard Mist in Alaskan Salmon. I also added a very light mist of TA Chalkboard Mist in Firefly. I loved how it came out & finished it up with some lovely Prima bling, as well as some ribbon & a sentiment from my stash. Simple, but beautiful!

I think this card would look so pretty if it accompanied a spa gift basket for a friend! If you would love to create one of your own, or just have some fun trying out some of Tattered Angels' mists, screens, stamps, & chips, visit the YMH Store & get in on some great deals during April! And don't forget that through out the month us DT Members will be highlighting TA's products so visit us HERE for some great inspiration, techniques, & tutorials!  Happy Craftin'!
