Those who know me well know that I absolutely adore Halloween! It is my fav holiday and one that my family and I love! Maybe it has something to do with Fall being my fav season, I don't know. I just know I am so happy during this time of year!
This first pic is a spooky sneaky peek of an album I made with my awesome mom-n-law! Several weeks ago we went to a class at our LSS - her treat! She is such a super sweet person and I am so blessed to have terrific in-laws! Anyway, it is not quite finished as I have to add some more of my own touches to it and, of course, this year's Halloween pics! But isn't it just yummy so far?!!
The next photos are some adorable little pumpkins my son and I sat down and painted the other day. We had so much fun breaking out my scrap supplies to create something together! And, I just love how his turned out! Hubby said the one pumpkin of his, on the left, looks like a little death metal pumpkin! A friend said it reminded her of Alice Cooper though! We have been getting the biggest laughs out of that. And, I think the little googly eyes he added to his two just made them even cuter! Never thought I would use the words cute and death metal to describe the same object! LOL!
TJ and I were planning on making a wreath for Halloween together, but time has got away from us with everyone being so sickly for so many weeks. So we will be doing a fall wreath together instead. Hopefully, within the next week we will get it finished and I can post that too! We also have some jack-o-lanterns to carve sometime this week as well! And, I am also working on a fall mini album for the latest challenge over at WSB - will be posting that next week too! So much fall fun! Happy Scrapping!

WSB Cupcake Card Challenge
The celebration is nearly over at Whimisical Scraps & Bugs. It was one year ago this month that the challenge blog started and I am so excited that it is still going strong. The final challenge for October's blog-iversary celebration is up, so hop on over and take a look! We would all love to see what you come up with too as this latest challenge is definitely a cool one!
For this particular DT challenge, Cindy told us all to use cupcakes, make a card, and of course, incorporate our Cricuts somehow. I used my mini mongrams cart to cut scallop circles at both 1 1/2" & 2" to make the "icing" on my cuppie. I then inked the edges and ran them through my cuttlebug using the divine swirls folder. I also used my pop dots to give the icing lots of dimension. I free hand cut the cupcake base and ran that through my cuttlebug as well using the swiss dots folder. I inked all the other edges with coffee ink by StampCraft and the cardstock is Bazzill while the patterned paper is Making Memories. The ribbon is from my stash, but I believe it is Offray. The cute little cherry is one of my vintage buttons that I adhered using some industrial strength adhesive of my hubby's and then I just attached a little fiber for the stem.
This was such a fun little challenge and I am so blessed to be on such a great DT with so many other sweet and talented scrappers. I hope you get a chance to hop on over to WSB and see all the other card creations the DT came up with, as well as play along on our next challenge! Happy Scrapping!

Scrapsketch & more challenge goodness!
Well, hello world! It seems my family is finally over the ickies going around, at least for the time being, and I have some scrappy goodness to share with you! I am hoping to get back on track with all my regular postings, including visiting your blogs and leaving comments!
This is a layout based on sketch #171 for Scrapsketch. If you haven't visited Scrapsketch yet, then run, don't walk over there right now! Stephanie designs some fabulous sketches that really help get the creative juices flowing! Not to mention she is super sweet as well! This particular layout is of my hubby, son and our son's BFF. The photos were taken at Frontier City's Fright Fest a few years ago and yes, I am just now getting around to scrapping them! LOL! My goal this month is to get ALL of my past Halloween photos scrapped. So far, I am about 1/2 way there and hope I can finish up before next weekend! This layout is also for ad challenge #4 over at From Here 2 Scrapternity, a very cool faith-based scrapping community I stumbled upon and am in love with! Make sure to check them out!
The cardstock and patterned paper is My Mind's Eye and The Paper Studio. I inked the edges of the photos and paper with StampCraft black ink. I used my Cricut and Indie Art for the title, and then used some awesome orange tulle that came in my Lady Marmalade kit from Gauche Alchemy. Also from that kit are the orange beads and the heavy duty orange thread I strung them on. I used some orange staples to secure the tulle and get the ruffle effect and a white Sakura jelly roll pen for my journaling.
I really enjoyed doing this layout, especially with so much time off due to dealing with viruses, and hope you do too! Make sure to take the time to hop on over to Scrapsketch and check out all the wonderful creations the DT came up with! Happy Scrapping!

Icky Viruses Going Around...
Just wanted to take a quick moment to say I am so sorry for not posting much this past week. I have been sick, as well as the hubby, and now our son is sick too. Two different bugs in one week. Most of you know my mom has also been extremely sick too as she was in the hospital most of last week. She is out now, but still on oxygen and not feeling great. I promise to post some good news soon and some scrappy goodness as well. Just bear with me as we battle the nasties that seem to be going around! Hugs to all!

Lil Vamp - Scrapsketch Challenge
Time for the latest Scrapsketch DT post! I am such a fan of Stephanie's sketches and am just loving being on her DT too! She is such a sweetie and so talented too! This is Scrapsketch # 166 and I decided to do a Halloween layout of our son. Everyone knows by now how much I love Halloween so I am sure the majority of my posts this month will be related in some way! These particular photos of TJ are some of my absolute favs. They were taken when he was 23 months and I just think he is the most adorable little vampire! He really hammed it up for the cameras too! I haven't scrapped a lot of older photos because I am always playing catch up with current ones! So, this month I may be getting all my past Halloween layouts done! Yay!
The round patterned paper I used for this layout is from Target, while the rest of the papers are by The Paper Studio. I used my scallop punch from SU on the edges as well as inking the edges of everything, even the photos! I love the added dimension this gives to a picture! The brackets are glitter chipboard by Junkitz that I had left over from last year, the 'vamp' is fabric Thickers, and the 'lil' is EK Success stickers. The little bat is a die cut from an old kit, as is the orange circle, but I am not sure who made them.
I hope you like my layout and that you take the time to visit Scrapsketch! There are some awesome Halloween sketches there as well as some very cool layouts that the other DT members created! Definitely a place full of inspiration and creativity! I will also try to post again later today if I get a chance as I have a cute pic and story to share from this past weekend, which was great! Happy Scrapping!

urgent prayer...
update 10/06/09: they are keeping my mom in the hospital for several days. she has a nasty case of pneumonia which isn't helped any by the fact that she has COPD too. the dr. she has is absolutely wonderful and i am so thankful to God that she is being well cared for. the nurses are fabulous too. they have treated her with several antibiotics and are doing several more different ones via her iv, as well as a round of steroids too. plus she is getting regular breathing treatments every four hours and is on oxygen constantly. if you could please continue to pray for her, i would so appreciate it. she is the most wonderful person and i love her dearly. thank you all so very much! love y'all too!
10/05/09: my mom was just admitted to the hospital. she has pneumonia...please pray....

Monster Mash - WSB Challenge
Hello again! Earlier in the week I promised several posts this week filled with crafty goodness and, by golly, I keep my promises! LOL! Here is my latest layout for the WSB DT challenge! The challenge the very creative Cindy gave to us was to use lyrics on our project and to use three photos. Now, you can see from my layout that I did not use three photos. Why, you might ask? Well, because I didn't read the instructions very well and goofed! I hope she forgives me!! hehehe!
I have to admit that I got the basic inspiration for this layout out of one of my scrap magazines. I then added my own twists to it and changed it up. The photos are a few years old and are of my hubby, son, niece and nephew at my in-laws. Halloween is my family's fav holiday and this particular year we had a blast! I just love these photos!
I used Bazzill and The Paper Studio cardstock & K&Co., Making Memories, DCWV and Autumn Leaves patterned paper. I used a Sakura pen to write Halloween on the purple paper to simulate a ribbon and the green ribbon is AC. I used Thickers to spell MASH & my Cricut Mini Monograms cart to spell MONSTER. I drew a spider web with black Stickles and the spiders are some leftover Halloween rings I cut the ring portion off of and used pop dots on them for dimension. I also used black StampCraft ink on the edges of my photos to help them stand out a little better. I love this technique!
If you get a chance, hop on over to the Whimsical Scraps & Bugs site to check out all the other fun projects the DT did. I am posting mine a day early because I probably won't be able to tomorrow. As well, WSB is participating in the Fall Challenge Blog Hop and you definitely don't want to miss out on that! Today is the last day to participate so make sure you start out at Scrapsketch! I promise to be back one more time this week with some more projects I am working on! Happy Scrapping!
