Home Is Where the Heart Is...

Hey y'all! Hope everyone has been enjoying some fabulous early spring weather like we have. Seriously, it has been just beautiful in central Oklahoma lately! And like I told y'all earlier, all this lovely weather has put me in a springy-type of crafting mood. So here I am again this week sharing a spring inspired project for Your Memories Here! I don't do much mixed media type art, but this week I thought - bring it on!

I decided to create a wall hanging using some wonderful Prima products. I just love, love, love this paper!! YMH has a fabulous selection of Prima papers, ribbon, bling, stamps, kits and more that you can check out RIGHT HERE! I did use a template for the house, but all the items are hand cut and I had so much fun creating. It really got me out of the craft funk I've been in and helped re-energize my mojo! I'm also thinking that I might create a pretty wreath and use this in the center of it. Not sure yet, but if I do, I'll make sure to share it with y'all! Oh, and are those two lil' chip board birdies covered with music notes not darling?!

Supplies
Patterned Paper/Flowers/Rhinestones - Prima
Distress Ink - Tim Holtz/Ranger
 Tiny Type - Cosmo Cricket
Cardstock - The Paper Studio
Letter Stickers - Echo Park
Chipboard Embellishments - American Crafts
Large Chipboard Heart - Heidi Swapp
Ribbon - May Arts
Baker's Twine - The Twinery
Scallop Punch - Stampin' Up
Adhesive - Glue Glider Pro, Pop Dots, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue

Well, I hope you liked my project and it inspires you to create some crafty goodness of your own. In the meantime, hop on over to the YMH DT Blog for even more terrific inspiration HERE. And for some great prices on amazing goodies, check out the YMH Store RIGHT HERE. You will be so happy that you did! Well, I'm off to juggle the rest of the week and try to get some crafting in too. My mother had knee replacement surgery, I've got a parent/teacher conference tonight, kiddo is still having physical therapy on his shoulder, the hubby's big 4-0 birthday is Thursday and then the entire family is coming for Easter...whew! Ya know, sometimes life just isn't the same (or as fun!) unless it's crazy - LOL! ;0)
Until next time, Happy Crafting!!

SPOOK-tacular Frame...more dollar store decor w/YMH!

Hey y'all! I'm back again to share some more dollar store decor that is sure to dress up your home just right for Halloween! See, as most of ya know, Halloween is our favorite holiday here in the Beshear household. And, like a lot of crafters out there right now, I'm a crafter on a budget. This project I'm showing ya today cost me $1 buck...yep, just a dollar cause all I had to buy was the frame. So, I'm here to show you how to make the most of your goodies while getting the most bang for your buck...by using your scraps, shopping your local dollar tree & scoring some amazing deals at Your Memories Here! I've designed for YMH for over a year now & am so happy to do so. I love sharing how just a few products can really jazz up a project, as well as how to get the most out of things. Kristina, YMH owner, is absolutely fabulous & really does have some amazing bargains....so check them out HERE in the YMH Store!

Okay, so my little spooky project started out with a frame from my local dollar tree, just like last week's home decor project did. You can check that shabby Halloween frame out HERE. Then I started using some fun products like Tattered Angels stamps, mists & papers, as well as some Prima papers & a Donna Downey stamp...most of these items can be found RIGHT HERE in the YMH Store too. I'm tellin' y'all, one stop shopping rules...lol! This project is fab-u-lous for scraps. That's actually what I made it all out of too, which makes it even better. And you can make one too cause it is soooo easy....just grab you a frame, measure your papers, and embellish to your little heart's content. You can't go wrong with this project so don't be afraid to make it yours!

Supplies
Twine - The Twinery
Numbers - American Craft Thickers (rain boot font)
Flocked Letters - Dollar General
Sentiment Stamps - Studio G
Ink - Staz On
Patterned Paper - Authentique, Reminisce

Dollar Decor w/Tattered Angels from YMH!

So good to see y'all again! I've been hiding away in my crafty cave trying to get an insane amount of projects done. Not only do I have my regular DT projects due, but also some GDT stuff & lots of Fall/Halloween home decor craftiness taking place. Seriously, you should see my craft room. It looks like a tornado & earthquake happened in there...at the same time. I will clean it though. Soon. Maybe. Anyway! I'm here today to share with you a super cheap, super cute & shabby Halloween home decor frame made with some awesome supplies from the Your Memories Here Store. First off, this project cost me $1. Yes, $1. I had everything on hand but the frame, which called my name when I was at my local Dollar Tree the other day. I instantly knew what I wanted to do with it.

I have a bunch of old, vintage books that I use for projects like this. I grabbed one, ripped out some pages with the binding still in tact, & cut out a pumpkin shape. I used my Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam (grab it HERE) and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (get that HERE) to give it some pretty orange sparkle & shimmer. I also put a few drops of charcoal glimmer mist in a ziploc baggie & added my ribbon. I smooshed it around & then pulled it out to dry. This is easiest way to "mist" your ribbons without getting mist everywhere. I cut my paper to fit the frame, found me a cutie stick & set to getting everything glued down. I also added that cute little Halloween tag...which I found in a pack at Target for $1. So maybe the project cost me $2...but technically I didn't buy the tag just for this frame so I'm not gonna count it. That's just how I roll...LOL!

Now, hop on over to the YMH Store HERE to grab some fabulous Tattered Angels goodies at amazing prices. And visit the YMH DT blog HERE for awesome inspiration. Plus, don't forget to check out the brand new linking party at Paper Issues...it's all about Halloween! You'll also have the chance to win some fun mini kits from the Paper Issues store & the party will last all month long RIGHT HERE...woo-hoo! Make sure to check back soon for a very special GDT post...until then, Happy Craftin'!

Supplies
Glimmer Mists/Glams - Tattered Angels (charcoal, mimosa, & copper kettle)
Frame - Dollar Tree
Halloween Tag - Target (check out their $1 spot...awesome stuff!)
Adhesives - Pop Dots, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Vintage Book/Button/Ribbon - Stash
Stick - Outside (seriously, go outside & grab some stuff...see what ya can create!)

I'm also entering my home decor project into the following challenges!

Live Out Loud...

Happy Tuesday y'all! I'm back to share with you a project for Your Memories Here that I'm hoping will rock your world...pun intended! :0) As y'all know I love me some Prima Marketing products, and this week I wanted to show you some versatility using Prima on this rockin' guy LO featuring our son. Usually when I use Prima, and I know most others do this too, we make everything soft, pretty, & detailed because their products are just so gorgeous. However, some of their prettiest papers have a grungier flip side that are just perfect to showcase the men in our life! And like always, you can find the most fabulous Prima products including papers, flowers, ribbons, stamps, crystals & more RIGHT HERE in the YMH Store.

One of my favorite things about this LO are the letters; I just love how they turned out when I spritzed them with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Charcoal. They almost look like metal & really have some depth to them too. I also love that I was able to recycle several items such as the corrugated cardboard stars, which used to be a coffee wrapper, and the fabric journaling spot, which was a Van's shoe tag in a previous life. I always save all the tags off our son's shoes/clothes because most of them are pretty cool & just perfect for LO's like this. It also makes the LO a little more personal. I also spritzed a little charcoal glimmer mist on the cardboard stars to help them stand out. The arrow & the cardboard stars I cut by hand using a template, then dabbed some Tim Holtz Distress Ink on them.

Supplies
Patterned Paper - Prima (blue), Junkitz (red)
Red Stars - Cricut/Indie Art Cartridge
Cardstock - Bazzill
Large Letters - Heidi Swapp
Adhesive - Glue Glider Pro, Pop Dots, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Journaling Pen - Sakura Jelly Roll (white), Sharpie (black)
Recycled - Van's Tag, Corrugated Cardboard

Thanks so very much for stopping by! Now, if you'd visit the YMH Store HERE to check out some amazing offers, that would make me super happy too! And if you're in need of some inspiration, swing on by the YMH DT Blog for ideas...the ladies over there are super talented! Make sure to check back tomorrow as I've got another LO to share with you, this one using some inspiration from Sketchy Thursdays. Plus, on Saturday I'll have another GDT post for Fresh Brewed Designs. Until then, Happy Craftin'!
