Hello my crafty friends! I am back with another awesome
Fairy Fun Friday challenge! This week the fabulous
Roberta asked us DT members to create using a specific set of colors...the blues and greens decorating the backdrop for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. I thought this was a fantastic idea and had a great time coming up with this card for a very special friend. I also had a blast because this is my first easel card! Super duper easy and so fun to make...I will definitely be doing more of these from now on! Although it should be noted that my goofy self didn't pay attention and decorated the card horizontally instead of vertically...making it just a little bit wider on the edges! LOL! I also want to note that I used an awesome card sketch by the talented Stephanie over at
Scrapsketch. It has been so long since I had the opportunity to rock out one of her awesome sketches and I am so happy to still be part of her terrific DT! Make sure to check out her awesome sketches
HERE!

First, I started with a
Prairie Fairy Digital Stamp, The Moost. The cool thing about digital stamps? You can alter them and make them work for YOU! I decided to change the sentiment on the sign from "Love You The Moost" to "Moose You So Much!" Very easy to do in Photoshop, or another image editing program. I then colored my image using my Prisma pencils. I used some cotton to trim his winter clothes and added some Stickles too. I also used Stickles for some sparkly snow. The patterned paper is Autumn Leaves and The Paper Studio, while the cardstock is Bazzill. The paper ribbon trim is by Flair Designs, the jute is by Fiskars, and the ribbon is from my stash. I also inked all my edges with Stamp Craft, Studio G, and KI Memories ink. The pine needle branch, berries, and pine cone are actually off an old Christmas decoration. I used some hot glue to hold those bad boys in place!

I hope y'all get a chance to head on over to
Fairy Fun Fridays and check out all the awesome creations by the rest of the DT! They are such a talented group of crafters and definitely deserve some love! We would also love for you to play along with us using this week's color challenge...Roberta has some great candy for the winner! And, pop on over to
Prairy Fairy Digital Stamps and check out all the amazing image Roberta has created!
On a different note, and a sad one too, I didn't particpate in last week's Fairy challenge and have been absent from blog land due to the death of a dear friend. She was very young (same age as me...32) and very special. It was sudden, unexpected and tragic. I miss her so much and will for a very long time. She was a beautiful person and a fabulous mother. Get-togethers just won't be the same without her. It is so easy to take life for granted and think things will always be okay...to put off calling a friend today because you think they will be there tomorrow. Please don't...make sure your friends and family know exactly what they mean to you! Please keep Melissa's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers...I really appreciate it.
