Happy Howl-idays...with Sketches in Thyme!

Well hey again, y'all! I'm back again to share with you another LO for Sketches in Thyme...yay! I am so having so much fun being one of their guest Mavens for December and getting to play with their sketches in advance. And speaking of sketches, the one for this week was super fun, as you can see below! I also want to take a moment to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers. It means so very much to me and I am so grateful to you!!

As I've said before, I love sketches because they are so versatile. They are a great starting point and can be tweaked and reworked in so many ways. Even better is the fact that SIT provides so many fabulous sketches, as well as awesome inspiration from their DT. Check it all out HERE and plan to play along with us! ;0)

So obviously I'm feeling the holiday spirit, at least where my crafting is concerned. This fun LO was inspired by that gorgeous fur baby in the photo, our Boxer baby Sid. For those that have followed me awhile, you know just how much we love our rescued family member. He's been with us for nearly 6 years now and is completely spoiled rotten! I made sure to journal about how he loves to pose in front of the Christmas tree each year and that this is one of his 2 'signature poses'!

Supplies
Cardstock - The Paper Studio
Patterned Paper - Canvas Corp.
Thickers - American Crafts
Tiny Type - Cosmo Cricket
Distress Ink - Tim Holtz (walnut stain)
Ribbon - Offray
Chipboard Buttons - WalMart
White Pen - Sakura Jelly Roll
Adhesive - Glue Glider Pro, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue

I also want to talk about those 2 large, chipboard buttons I used. Know what they are? Stocking embellies! I picked them up last year after Christmas and got a package of 4 for about 25 cents. They come with a safety pin on the back, but I just popped that right off and adhered them to my LO with some Aileen's glue. Can't wait to use the other 2 on a future project! Now, hop on over to Sketches in Thyme to not only check out the other takes on this week's sketch, but to play along for a chance to win a great prize! And don't forget the fabulous holiday linking party going on right now at Paper Issues. I am so blessed to be a part of the PI Creative Team and let me tell you, those gals are so talented I get scared! LOL! So check it out to play along and be majorly inspired. So now I'm off to craft and bake some more, but I'll be back soon...until then, Happy Christmas Craftin'!

Winter Wonderland for Sketches in Thyme

Oh, I am so happy to be back for a number of reasons! The first being some super exciting news - I'm the December Maven for Sketches in Thyme! I am so very thrilled to be their Maven for the entire month and can't wait to share a new LO with you each week. In case you are not familiar with SIT, they are a fabulous sketch site that provides some wonderful inspiration. They have a super talented DT and you can check it all out RIGHT HERE! The other reason being that I've missed y'all so very much! It's been nearly a month since I last blogged and while I usually keep things private, it is due to my health. Among many health problems, I have a very severe case of Fibromyalgia, Osteo Arthritis, and Polymalgia Rheumatica. Several weeks ago I began receiving nerve blocks in my spine & hips. Today I go back for another round of the nerve blocks and they usually keep me down for a couple days. I'm also receiving injections in my knees as well. However, not only do I have an amazing Lord & Savior in Jesus Christ and a strong faith, I am so very blessed to have an amazing support network of family & friends. Their prayers and help have got me through so much, for which I am eternally grateful. Therefore, if you'll bare with me, I promise to keep up my crafting and get back to my normal schedule. It lifts my spirits to do a hobby that I love so much and this past week it has truly made me happy to be creating again. Now, on to the good stuff!

This is the sketch for this week and I loved that it featured more than one photo, as well as the side title. What I also love about sketches in general is not only are they helpful in getting started, but that you are not held down to the exact sketch. You can flip it, tweak it, and adjust the photo sizes - which is what I did. I decided to use 2 photos, one being slightly larger than the other. To check out how the SIT DT gals interpreted Sketch #62, click HERE!

The photos above are from a winter storm we received 2 years ago. I've been wanting to scrap them forever and am so glad they are finally done! And I also gotta give a shout out regarding those 2 super cute crochet hearts. They were made by and sent to me by a super sweet crafty friend - Heather Dennis, who owns Fresh Brewed Designs! She is such a sweetie & I love the special touch they give to my LO.

Share the Holidays...

Well, hello my crafty peeps! Been a little bit since I last posted and I'm sorry about that. Things have been kind of crazy round here so please forgive me. However, I'm hoping to get back to my normal routine now and to kick things off, I'm sharing with you a card I created for my Guest Design post at Paper Crafting Journey! I shared a creation about a month ago that I created for PCJ as well and you can check that card out HERE. I can tell you right now that I've loved creating for them & if you are not familiar with their challenge site, you should definitely check PCJ out RIGHT HERE! Psssttt...this week's super fun challenge is embossing - which I made sure to showcase on my hearts. Oh, and I just have to share that I scored that sweet sentiment for a whopping 12 cents, yep 12 cents, at my local Hobby Lobby Basket Market awhile back. Love that place so much and if you are lucky enough to have one, go check it out!!

Supplies

Patterned Paper - Cosmo Cricket (Odds and Ends)

I feel a little happy getting a jump start on a few of my handcrafted Christmas cards this year. Normally, if I get any made at all, it is at the very last minute. I swear I'm one of the world's worst procrastinators! I'm hoping to get back here later this week to show off a few more holiday cards I'm whipping up. It doesn't feel like we should be talking about Christmas yet since Thanksgiving hasn't even passed, but oh well. For those dreading the craziness that comes with the holidays, forgive me for starting early! Make sure to hop on over to Paper Crafting Journey to check out this week's challenge and I hope you'll play along too!

Always a Monster!

Hey y'all! I'm back again as promised with a fun Halloween LO that I hope you love as much as I do! It uses some great products from some great companies...plus has a great pic of our kiddo (the bloody, crazy clown of course) from last year. I've been hearing quite a bit about Authentique paper lately so decided to try some out myself and boy howdy, it is fab stuff! I just loved the texture & thickness of it. And, the banner and strips behind the LO are both from the same sheet of double sided paper. When I seen those cute little variant triangles all over the page, I knew it would make the perfect banner and it did! The background paper is from AC's Mischievous line and I love it as well. When I trimmed off the bottom label of the paper, I actually made sure to keep the word "Mischievous" to use somewhere on my LO. I usually do that with most of my papers because there are always either cute patters you can use as borders, or cute words you can use on a LO or card. Just another good way to recycle/upcycle!

Supplies
Cardstock - Bazzill
Patterned Paper - Authentique, American Crafts
Glimmer Mists - Tattered Angels (key lime & charcoal- from the YMH Store !)
Distress Ink - Tim Holtz (walnut stain...my fave!)

Journaling Pen - PenTech
Adhesives - Glue Glider Pro, Pop Dots

Seriously, the inspiration offered on the site is phenomenal & I sometimes feel way inferior. So, check it out HERE & I hope I see ya playing along too! On another note, I am super excited to see what photos I get from this year's Halloween affair so I can start scrappin' them. Halloween is our favorite holiday & we love nothing more than eating, watching scary movies, and trick or treating of course! So, do you have any big Halloween plans or usual traditions? I'd love to hear about them! In the meantime, enjoy the holiday & check back in a few days for my weekly Your Memories Here post! Until then, Spooky Craftin'!

I Dream of Mocha...

Hello again my crafty peeps! Told ya I'd be back again didn't I? Although I said I'd share a Halloween LO, I decided to save that one to show in a few days & share this one instead...mostly cause its so much fun & I just really like it! I was totally inspired to do a LO like this by a recent page I seen in Scrapbook Trends. I loved the blocked style of that LO & the similar use of some stick pins. I decided to go from there & make it my own, including scrapping about my love of iced mochas...especially the ones from Taco Bell. Seriously, have you tried those yet? They are amazing; maybe cause they use Seattle's Best coffee, I don't know. I just know that me & the kiddo are always craving one!

I was also inspired to create this LO by the current challenge over at True XoXo to use an "instagram" type feature on your photo. I used a combo of Picnik & Photoshop on mine and really love how it turned out. The retro effect you can achieve with Picnik is seriously fun y'all & you should totally try it if you haven't! And, you should definitely check out True XoXo (click here!) because they have some terrific challenges & some great designers too. The inspiration over there is really fabulous and they encourage you to scraplift their DT's ideas...which is where I was inspired to use my mists, as well as the vintage feel of the Odds & Ends papers!

So better in fact, you'll need to stop back in several times this week as I share several more LO's that I've whipped up, as well as a home decor Halloween project...yay! Now, while I whipped up this LO featuring some super fun Cosmo Cricket projects from the Your Memories Here Store, I used THIS fabby sketch that can be found over at Sketches in Thyme. They have several challenges a month featuring some of the best sketches ever! I discovered them several months ago and have been playing along since then. SPOOK-tacular Frame...more dollar store decor w/YMH!

Hey y'all! I'm back again to share some more dollar store decor that is sure to dress up your home just right for Halloween! See, as most of ya know, Halloween is our favorite holiday here in the Beshear household. And, like a lot of crafters out there right now, I'm a crafter on a budget. This project I'm showing ya today cost me $1 buck...yep, just a dollar cause all I had to buy was the frame. So, I'm here to show you how to make the most of your goodies while getting the most bang for your buck...by using your scraps, shopping your local dollar tree & scoring some amazing deals at Your Memories Here! I've designed for YMH for over a year now & am so happy to do so. I love sharing how just a few products can really jazz up a project, as well as how to get the most out of things. Kristina, YMH owner, is absolutely fabulous & really does have some amazing bargains....so check them out HERE in the YMH Store!

Okay, so my little spooky project started out with a frame from my local dollar tree, just like last week's home decor project did. You can check that shabby Halloween frame out HERE. Then I started using some fun products like Tattered Angels stamps, mists & papers, as well as some Prima papers & a Donna Downey stamp...most of these items can be found RIGHT HERE in the YMH Store too. I'm tellin' y'all, one stop shopping rules...lol! This project is fab-u-lous for scraps. That's actually what I made it all out of too, which makes it even better. And you can make one too cause it is soooo easy....just grab you a frame, measure your papers, and embellish to your little heart's content. You can't go wrong with this project so don't be afraid to make it yours!

Supplies
Twine - The Twinery
Numbers - American Craft Thickers (rain boot font)
Flocked Letters - Dollar General
Sentiment Stamps - Studio G

Dollar Decor w/Tattered Angels from YMH!

So good to see y'all again! I've been hiding away in my crafty cave trying to get an insane amount of projects done. Not only do I have my regular DT projects due, but also some GDT stuff & lots of Fall/Halloween home decor craftiness taking place. Seriously, you should see my craft room. It looks like a tornado & earthquake happened in there...at the same time. I will clean it though. Soon. Maybe. Anyway! I'm here today to share with you a super cheap, super cute & shabby Halloween home decor frame made with some awesome supplies from the Your Memories Here Store. First off, this project cost me $1. Yes, $1. I had everything on hand but the frame, which called my name when I was at my local Dollar Tree the other day. I instantly knew what I wanted to do with it.

I have a bunch of old, vintage books that I use for projects like this. I grabbed one, ripped out some pages with the binding still in tact, & cut out a pumpkin shape. I used my Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam (grab it HERE) and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (get that HERE) to give it some pretty orange sparkle & shimmer. I also put a few drops of charcoal glimmer mist in a ziploc baggie & added my ribbon. I smooshed it around & then pulled it out to dry. This is easiest way to "mist" your ribbons without getting mist everywhere. I cut my paper to fit the frame, found me a cutie stick & set to getting everything glued down. I also added that cute little Halloween tag...which I found in a pack at Target for $1. So maybe the project cost me $2...but technically I didn't buy the tag just for this frame so I'm not gonna count it. That's just how I roll...LOL!

Now, hop on over to the YMH Store HERE to grab some fabulous Tattered Angels goodies at amazing prices. And visit the YMH DT blog HERE for awesome inspiration. Plus, don't forget to check out the brand new linking party at Paper Issues...it's all about Halloween! You'll also have the chance to win some fun mini kits from the Paper Issues store & the party will last all month long RIGHT HERE...woo-hoo! Make sure to check back soon for a very special GDT post...until then, Happy Craftin'!

Supplies
Glimmer Mists/Glams - Tattered Angels (charcoal, mimosa, & copper kettle)
Frame - Dollar Tree
Halloween Tag - Target (check out their $1 spot...awesome stuff!)
Adhesives - Pop Dots, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Vintage Book/Button/Ribbon - Stash

FBD's 'Save the Hooters' Blog Hop!

Good Morning and thank you for joining in on the Fresh Brewed Designs Save The Hooters blog hop.
If you are getting here from Stacy's blog HERE then you are right on track. If not, please start off at the beautiful and talented Linda's blog.

We are so happy that you are joining us today as we spread smiles, share beautiful projects and most of all raise awareness. The word Cancer is one that makes us all cringe and sometimes turn away. That does not make it go away, it just means we try to avoid talking about it and pretending it is not there. It is there and it is a reality. I know most of us have had family or friends who have been diagnosed with a form of cancer or know someone who has died of cancer related causes. One of those cancers is Breast Cancer. In the year 2011 in the United States alone approximately 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women have been reported, approximately 57,650 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be found (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer, and approximately 39,520 deaths from breast cancer (women).
Fresh Brewed Designs has created a brand new rubber stamp set as well as several digital stamps in which part of your purchase will be donated to Chemo Angels. If you have not heard about Chemo Angels we suggest you look them up. They are a wonderful organization. They support all forms of cancer as well as have ways to donate in the form of time, cards, as well as monetary donations. To find out more about how Fresh Brewed Designs will be taking part, visit HERE.

(wanna win? leave a comment & become a follower...super easy!)

I'm also offering some fun Halloween blog candy during the hop! If you'd like the chance to win, simply leave me a comment & become a follower. If you are already a follower of my blog, just let me know that in your comment. Super easy huh? No jumping through hoops on this gal's blog...LOL!

So for today's hop, I chose to use FBD's Spicy Pumpkin Latte to whip up a fun fall card! I just love this stamp because it is very versatile...last Saturday I used it to create a Halloween card you can find HERE. I just love creating with FBD's stamps & I am so blessed to their GDT for September!
