Candy Corn Wreath!

Hey everyone! Hope you are all having a fabulous Friday! Are you ready for the weekend...filled with frights, fun, & lots of candy? I know we are...we LOVE Halloween! I wanted to pop back in today to share with you a quick, inexpensive & fun little wreath I whipped up this week!

The best thing about this wreath, other than its total cuteness, is the fact that it only cost $4. Yep, $4!! I purchased all the items at my local Dollar Tree: 2 bags of candy corn, black electrical tape, & foam wreath form. I already had the ribbon in my craft room from a leftover Christmas present & with glue gun in hand, I proceeded to craft up a storm. It should be noted that I did accidentally hot glue a candy corn to my ankle, but I made it through in one piece...LOL!!

To make this wreath (I did get the idea for it out of my Woman's Day magazine but changed up a few things...price & tape type) simply wrap your wreath form in black electrical tape. Then, hot glue rows of candy corn, in alternating directions, completely around your wreath - except for the back. Add your chosen ribbon & voila!! You have a super cute Halloween/Fall wreath that your friends, family & neighbors will love! Make sure to check back in the next week for some more fun projects...including another Fall wreath, homemade apple butter, & a cute bookmark tutorial! Until then, Happy Craftin'!!

I'm also linkin' my crafty idea up to the following link parties!!

Recycled Packaging 12x12 LO - A Perfect Trip w/Your Memories Here!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are having a beautiful fall day like we are here in Oklahoma! Today I wanted to share with you a LO for Your Memories Here that is mostly made out of recycled (or upcycled) items & scraps. The photo was taken at the end of a weekend trip hubby & I went on recently & the rainbow was the perfect end to a perfect trip. I love using up my stash & I hate throwing anything away! I am big on "green" wherever & whenever you can, even in my crafting, & wanted to show you how easy it can be!

The base for this LO is entirely Prima packaging! It is the backing that came with a 12x12 transparency & I simply flipped it over, trimmed it to size, inked the edges & spritzed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist & Glimmer Glam. This was my first time using the Glimmer Glam & I gotta say that I love it! It leaves a brighter, bolder color & shimmer that I really like. I also used some more Prima packaging for the background the Prima flowers & yellow Prima lace are on, and also edged it with some ink. The other recycled/upcycled item is the vintage dictionary page...which I thought was just perfect for this page with its definitions of thunder! Everything else is scraps from other projects, including that lovely Prima lace at the top of the page...really take a look at all your packaging & leftover scraps before tossing them out. Prima especially makes lovely reusable packaging & not only could you make a gorgeous project, you can feel good about it afterward!!

I hope I have inspired you to take a closer look at using some recycled/upcycled items in your crafty projects. I would love it if you hopped on over to the Your Memories Here DT blog & take a look around for some fab inspiration! All the Prima & Tattered Angels products used in my LO can be found HERE in the Your Memories Here Store. Make sure to check it out because there are some amazing new items & kits that are to die for, and at fab prices too!! Until next time, Happy Crafting!!

I am also entering my green LO into the following challenges! Wish me luck!!

EIC - Inspired by StilettoHeights' Blue Afternoon Scrabble Tiles (love all those squares!)
Scrap Your Crap - At Least 10 Manufacturers (love using up all those different scraps!)
Scrappin the Music - Bubbly (i feel this way w/my hubby & that made our trip perfect!)

Remember Paris Card...

Happy Sunday to all again! This week I wanted to share a card with you featuring Prima & Tattered Angels products from the Your Memories Here Store that is as easy as it is lovely! My love for Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist knows no bounds & it was perfect for this particular project I wanted to conquer. My fab mom-in-law just returned from a trip to Paris, Venice, & Rome...I know, I'm uber jealous too! LOL! I am working on designing her a mini album to gather some of her memorabilia & photographs in which I plan on giving her for Christmas. I wanted a sweet card to accompany the album & this turned out just like I wanted! I'm also tempted to make a set of these cards for another present as well since I really like how it turned out!!

I used a Tattered Angels mask (from the Spooky Findings Kit) & some soft white chalk ink (from Stampin' Up) on black cardstock for the base. I also spritzed it with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl for a nice shimmery effect. Then, I took some Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist in Vintage Pink & Key Lime & spritzed it on some white paper for my stamped image, which is a Magnolia image. After distressing the edges, I used some Glimmer Mist in Graphite to ink the edges. I added some beautiful Prima mini roses that are just gorgeous & some shimmery ribbon leftover from some flowers my hubby gave me a few months ago. The "remember" sentiment is actually packaging from the Prima mini roses! I love Prima packaging because it is so perfect for re-using on your projects. The roses come on this beautiful acrylic that has inspirational words printed on it & could be used for sentiments or even as a transparency. I love it, plus it's one less thing to toss in a landfill!! I only wish you could see how beautiful the glimmer mist looks up close & personal...it is just gorgeous!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit & I hope you also take the time to stop by the Your Memories Here Store as well as the Your Memories Here DT blog! You can find the products I used on my card & so much more in Kristina's wonderful store. Plus, you will be amazed at the awesome prices, and S/H, too! Take care & until next week, Happy Craftin'!

My card is entered into the following challenge! Wish me luck & make sure to check them out!

Vintage Look Boo Banner - Spooky Findings Kit

Hi everyone! Hope you have all had a fabulous weekend...and a crafty one too! Sorry, I missed everyone last week, I wasn't feeling well, but I'm back again this week to show you this fun, vintage looking banner that you can create with the Tattered Angels Spooky Findings Kit! You can grab your kit right HERE in the Your Memories Here store!

First, I must say that I am absolutely in LOVE with this kit! The amount of products it came with & the very economical price very much impressed me. Tattered Angels did an amazing job on this kit & you cannot go wrong if you purchase it! It includes amazing & large clear stamps, a mask, 3 (1 oz) bottles of glimmer mist, crepe paper, 2 different types of ribbon, 2 different patterned papers, 6 sheets of quality cardstock in 3 colors, 3 tags, 4 square cardstock tags, decorative plastic spiders, & the super glam glimmer chips. Whew, I think I included everything! LOL! But seriously, it is A LOT of product & you can make numerous projects with it for an amazing price. And don't get locked in that it is only for Halloween...they are sooo many different types of projects you can do with this kit!!

For my project I started with 3 black tags that I used the mask on, as well as the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Mimosa, Charcoal, & Key Lime that comes in the kit. I then used the included clear stamps, also called Screened Prints, for the spider/web, cat, & tree. I then added the cute little crepe paper skirt to the bottom of each tag & used some glimmer mist in pearl to jazz it up. I also inked the edges of each tag. Next, I used the charcoal glimmer mist to change the ribbon from creme to an aged black. Next I did the crepe paper rosettes. This crepe paper did not come in the kit & began its life as yellow...however, I whipped out the mimosa glimmer mist & made it a lovely shade of orange. I used my Cricut to cut the letters & then accented them with some Prima pearls. Of course, neither the pearls nor the Cricut (LOL!) come in the kit. But wouldn't it be awesome if they did!! hehehe! Now, my spooky little vintage banner is hanging on a fall shelf in my home!

This project really comes together quickly & is definitely a fairly easy one to conquer. The only part that takes awhile is the drying time, but if you figure out what you are going to glimmer mist & do it all at once, you can complete it fairly fast once it is all dry. I hope you pick up a Spooky Findings Kit for yourself in the YMH Store or simply try to make a lovely banner all your own! I would love to see it too! Until next week, Happy Craftin'!
