Fairy Fun Friday Color Challenge!

Hello my crafty friends! I am back with another awesome Fairy Fun Friday challenge! This week the fabulous Roberta asked us DT members to create using a specific set of colors...the blues and greens decorating the backdrop for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. I thought this was a fantastic idea and had a great time coming up with this card for a very special friend. I also had a blast because this is my first easel card! Super duper easy and so fun to make...I will definitely be doing more of these from now on! Although it should be noted that my goofy self didn't pay attention and decorated the card horizontally instead of vertically...making it just a little bit wider on the edges! LOL! I also want to note that I used an awesome card sketch by the talented Stephanie over at Scrapsketch. It has been so long since I had the opportunity to rock out one of her awesome sketches and I am so happy to still be part of her terrific DT! Make sure to check out her awesome sketches HERE!

First, I started with a Prairie Fairy Digital Stamp, The Moost. The cool thing about digital stamps? You can alter them and make them work for YOU! I decided to change the sentiment on the sign from "Love You The Moost" to "Moose You So Much!" Very easy to do in Photoshop, or another image editing program. I then colored my image using my Prisma pencils. I used some cotton to trim his winter clothes and added some Stickles too. I also used Stickles for some sparkly snow. The patterned paper is Autumn Leaves and The Paper Studio, while the cardstock is Bazzill. The paper ribbon trim is by Flair Designs, the jute is by Fiskars, and the ribbon is from my stash. I also inked all my edges with Stamp Craft, Studio G, and KI Memories ink. The pine needle branch, berries, and pine cone are actually off an old Christmas decoration. I used some hot glue to hold those bad boys in place!

I hope y'all get a chance to head on over to Fairy Fun Fridays and check out all the awesome creations by the rest of the DT! They are such a talented group of crafters and definitely deserve some love! We would also love for you to play along with us using this week's color challenge...Roberta has some great candy for the winner! And, pop on over to Prairy Fairy Digital Stamps and check out all the amazing image Roberta has created!

I am also entering my easel card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Friends
SPCC - Colors
Incy Wincy Designs - Touchy Feely (Texture)
Bee Crafty - Sew Cute (faux or real stitching)
Practical Scrappers - Stamps
If the Shoe Fits - Mad for Plaid
365 Cards - Signature Style

On a different note, and a sad one too, I didn't particpate in last week's Fairy challenge and have been absent from blog land due to the death of a dear friend. She was very young (same age as me...32) and very special. It was sudden, unexpected and tragic. I miss her so much and will for a very long time. She was a beautiful person and a fabulous mother. Get-togethers just won't be the same without her. It is so easy to take life for granted and think things will always be okay...to put off calling a friend today because you think they will be there tomorrow. Please don't...make sure your friends and family know exactly what they mean to you! Please keep Melissa's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers...I really appreciate it.

Prairie Fairy Valentine's Challenge and Blog Hop!

Welcome...

to Prairie Fairy's 1st DT Blog Hop! If you came here from Pink Lilac's blog then you are on the right track! If you would like to start at the top of the hop, start HERE.

Here is my creation for this week's challenge and hop!

I used the adorable Roopid Prairie Fairy Digital Stamp for an altered V-Day project for our son! I love recycling/upcycling as much as possible and this little container was a Planter's peanut can in a former life...now, it holds some of our son's fav candy! I used my Prisma pencils to color Roberta's cute little image, which I matted with Bazzill and Paper Studio cardstock. I also added some ice Stickles to Roopid's wings and the heart. The patterned paper on the can is from Target...their $ spot, I believe! The ribbon is AC and the flowers are a Prima mix with rhinestone centers. But not only is the can recycled, but the scrunchy filler stuff (yep, that's my for it word - lol!) is as well, several times over to be exact! It was originally some old paper that was put through a shredder, corrugated, and stuffed in an SU goodie bag I received at a friend's house quite awhile back. I decided to re-purpose it too and am so glad I saved it!

Now, on to the hop! Here is the hop list:

The hop begins at midnight tonight and will last until 9 p.m. Valentines Day. From midnight tonight through midnight Friday, there will also be a FREE Prairie Fairy Digital Stamp you can download at the Prairie Fairy Digital Group. The winner of the hop will receive all of this:

PLUS four Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps! How cool is that! All you need to do to win is:

Become a follower of our challenge group for a second entry.

Join the PCP group for a 3rd entry.

Valentine Candy Box for Fairy Fun Fridays!

It's Fairy Fun Friday time again! Woo-hoo! And, I have another awesome image to show you from Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps by Roberta. Isn't this little cow adorable?! I just love the sentiment Roberta created to accompany it too. The digital stamp is called "Udderly" and you can find it in Roberta's store HERE. She also has some new releases created just for Valentines and you will definitely want to check them out!

The challenge this week at Fairy Fun Friday is a sketch challenge, but I decided to do something a little different than my usual card or layout! I decided to alter a candy box for my hubby that I received for Valentine's Day last year! I used my Prisma Pencils to color the image and used Stickles on the cow bell. The glitter paper is by Colorbok, and the patterned papers are by Pink Paislee. The cardstock is by SU & Bazzill. I used white & magenta ink by Studio G for some distressing and I also used Glimmer Mist on the scalloped square, which I cut using my Cricut Mini Monograms cart. I used hot glue to adhere the ruffled ribbon from my stash around the underside of the top cover, the ribbon on top is by American Crafts, as is the pink satin ribbon on the side. The silk flowers are from the Dollar Tree. I just buy them in bunches and separate them at home! The bling is also from my dear friend Leah, whose blog candy I won back in December!

I recently started really getting into challenges (they are definitely fun!) and am going to enter this one into the following:
Pile It On - No More Winter Colors
DCRU - Sugar Rush Color Combo
SPCC - Color Combo
Pink Elephant - All About Pink
Stampavie & More - Pink & Brown
Fussy & Fancy - Hearts
Pixie Cottage - Red & Pink
Corrosive - Love
Creative Inspirations - Pink & Cream
Pixie Dust Studio Pixie - 3-D Project
Dare U 2 Digi - Hearts/Valentine
Bee Crafty - Romance
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays
- Open
Paper Popsicles - Love
Stampin' for the Weekend - Valentines

Whew! That was a lot! LOL! If you have a moment it would just tickle me pink if you would visit the Fairy Fun Friday blog and leave us some love! Make sure to check out the challenge, candy and all the DT inspiration! And, stop by Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps too! You will definitely love what you see! Happy Scrappin'!
