Snow in Love!

Hey y'all! I'm back again this week, how about that?! LOL! Anyway, I'm here to share with you the LO I mentioned earlier that I'd been working on for weeks. I've just had it sitting on my craft room desk & I finally made myself pick up where I left off. I just love Crate Paper's Snow Day Collection & this LO uses just 3 sheets of their awesome paper, which I happened to pick up for a $1.50 at Hobby Lobby's Basket Market. Seriously, if you have HLBM near you, you must go - there are so many great paper crafting bargains there! Plus, this collection was just perfect to scrap this photo of our son & fur baby enjoying some winter weather!

Supplies
Patterned Paper - Crate Paper (snow day collection)
White Cardstock - The Paper Studio
Skinny Borders/In Love Sticker/Date Spot - Cosmo Cricket (hey sugar/odds & ends)

I also want to mention that I got the fabulous idea to use scalloped circles wrapped in twine as snowflakes from a LO designed by Lisa Storms. I found her LO featured HERE in a Scrapbooks Etc. post & just fell in love with the idea! I firmly believe in giving credit where it's due so I hope you also check out Lisa's fab blog RIGHT HERE too! Now, I'm off to work on my YMH project for Tuesday & hope you'll join me again then...and I would also be tickled if you decided to follow me on Pinterest. You can either click the lil' 'P' logo at the top of my blog or visit me HERE. Until next time, Happy Craftin'!!

Happy Howl-idays...with Sketches in Thyme!

Well hey again, y'all! I'm back again to share with you another LO for Sketches in Thyme...yay! I am so having so much fun being one of their guest Mavens for December and getting to play with their sketches in advance. And speaking of sketches, the one for this week was super fun, as you can see below! I also want to take a moment to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers. It means so very much to me and I am so grateful to you!!

As I've said before, I love sketches because they are so versatile. They are a great starting point and can be tweaked and reworked in so many ways. Even better is the fact that SIT provides so many fabulous sketches, as well as awesome inspiration from their DT. Check it all out HERE and plan to play along with us! ;0)

So obviously I'm feeling the holiday spirit, at least where my crafting is concerned. This fun LO was inspired by that gorgeous fur baby in the photo, our Boxer baby Sid. For those that have followed me awhile, you know just how much we love our rescued family member. He's been with us for nearly 6 years now and is completely spoiled rotten! I made sure to journal about how he loves to pose in front of the Christmas tree each year and that this is one of his 2 'signature poses'!

Supplies
Cardstock - The Paper Studio
Patterned Paper - Canvas Corp.
Thickers - American Crafts
Tiny Type - Cosmo Cricket
Distress Ink - Tim Holtz (walnut stain)
Ribbon - Offray
Chipboard Buttons - WalMart
White Pen - Sakura Jelly Roll
Adhesive - Glue Glider Pro, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue

I also want to talk about those 2 large, chipboard buttons I used. Know what they are? Stocking embellies! I picked them up last year after Christmas and got a package of 4 for about 25 cents. They come with a safety pin on the back, but I just popped that right off and adhered them to my LO with some Aileen's glue. Can't wait to use the other 2 on a future project! Now, hop on over to Sketches in Thyme to not only check out the other takes on this week's sketch, but to play along for a chance to win a great prize! And don't forget the fabulous holiday linking party going on right now at Paper Issues. I am so blessed to be a part of the PI Creative Team and let me tell you, those gals are so talented I get scared! LOL! So check it out to play along and be majorly inspired. So now I'm off to craft and bake some more, but I'll be back soon...until then, Happy Christmas Craftin'!

Winter Wonderland for Sketches in Thyme

Oh, I am so happy to be back for a number of reasons! The first being some super exciting news - I'm the December Maven for Sketches in Thyme! I am so very thrilled to be their Maven for the entire month and can't wait to share a new LO with you each week. In case you are not familiar with SIT, they are a fabulous sketch site that provides some wonderful inspiration. They have a super talented DT and you can check it all out RIGHT HERE! The other reason being that I've missed y'all so very much! It's been nearly a month since I last blogged and while I usually keep things private, it is due to my health. Among many health problems, I have a very severe case of Fibromyalgia, Osteo Arthritis, and Polymalgia Rheumatica. Several weeks ago I began receiving nerve blocks in my spine & hips. Today I go back for another round of the nerve blocks and they usually keep me down for a couple days. I'm also receiving injections in my knees as well. However, not only do I have an amazing Lord & Savior in Jesus Christ and a strong faith, I am so very blessed to have an amazing support network of family & friends. Their prayers and help have got me through so much, for which I am eternally grateful. Therefore, if you'll bare with me, I promise to keep up my crafting and get back to my normal schedule. It lifts my spirits to do a hobby that I love so much and this past week it has truly made me happy to be creating again. Now, on to the good stuff!

This is the sketch for this week and I loved that it featured more than one photo, as well as the side title. What I also love about sketches in general is not only are they helpful in getting started, but that you are not held down to the exact sketch. You can flip it, tweak it, and adjust the photo sizes - which is what I did. I decided to use 2 photos, one being slightly larger than the other. To check out how the SIT DT gals interpreted Sketch #62, click HERE!

The photos above are from a winter storm we received 2 years ago. I've been wanting to scrap them forever and am so glad they are finally done! And I also gotta give a shout out regarding those 2 super cute crochet hearts. They were made by and sent to me by a super sweet crafty friend - Heather Dennis, who owns Fresh Brewed Designs! She is such a sweetie & I love the special touch they give to my LO.

Supplies
Patterned Paper - Jillibean Soup (wood grain), October Afternoon (red gingham)
Foam Thickers - American Crafts
Ribbon - Fiskars
Doilies - Wilton
Distress Ink - Tim Holtz (walnut stain)
Journaling Spot - Shabby Chic Crafts
Adhesive - Glue Glider Pro, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue, Pop Dots
Stash - Crochet Hearts, Glitter Snowflakes, Buttons, Twine, Quote,

Thanks so much for stopping by and baring with me during a kinda lengthy post! Now, I hope you'll visit Sketches in Thyme to not only leave me so me love, but play along for a fabulous prize. You'll also be totally inspired by their amazing DT. Just click HERE to visit their blog! I'm planning on sharing another project in the next couple days, but just in case something happens, I will definitely be back next Thursday to share my next LO for Sketches in Thyme. Always a Monster!

Hey y'all! I'm back again as promised with a fun Halloween LO that I hope you love as much as I do! It uses some great products from some great companies...plus has a great pic of our kiddo (the bloody, crazy clown of course) from last year. I've been hearing quite a bit about Authentique paper lately so decided to try some out myself and boy howdy, it is fab stuff! I just loved the texture & thickness of it. And, the banner and strips behind the LO are both from the same sheet of double sided paper. When I seen those cute little variant triangles all over the page, I knew it would make the perfect banner and it did! The background paper is from AC's Mischievous line and I love it as well. When I trimmed off the bottom label of the paper, I actually made sure to keep the word "Mischievous" to use somewhere on my LO. I usually do that with most of my papers because there are always either cute patters you can use as borders, or cute words you can use on a LO or card. Just another good way to recycle/upcycle!

Supplies
Cardstock - Bazzill
Patterned Paper - Authentique, American Crafts
Glimmer Mists - Tattered Angels (key lime & charcoal- from the YMH Store !)

On another note, I am super excited to see what photos I get from this year's Halloween affair so I can start scrappin' them. Halloween is our favorite holiday & we love nothing more than eating, watching scary movies, and trick or treating of course! So, do you have any big Halloween plans or usual traditions? I'd love to hear about them! In the meantime, enjoy the holiday & check back in a few days for my weekly Your Memories Here post! Until then, Spooky Craftin'!

I Dream of Mocha...

Hello again my crafty peeps! Told ya I'd be back again didn't I? Although I said I'd share a Halloween LO, I decided to save that one to show in a few days & share this one instead...mostly cause its so much fun & I just really like it! I was totally inspired to do a LO like this by a recent page I seen in Scrapbook Trends. I loved the blocked style of that LO & the similar use of some stick pins. I decided to go from there & make it my own, including scrapping about my love of iced mochas...especially the ones from Taco Bell. Seriously, have you tried those yet? They are amazing; maybe cause they use Seattle's Best coffee, I don't know. I just know that me & the kiddo are always craving one!

I was also inspired to create this LO by the current challenge over at True XoXo to use an "instagram" type feature on your photo. I used a combo of Picnik & Photoshop on mine and really love how it turned out. The retro effect you can achieve with Picnik is seriously fun y'all & you should totally try it if you haven't! And, you should definitely check out True XoXo (click here!) because they have some terrific challenges & some great designers too. The inspiration over there is really fabulous and they encourage you to scraplift their DT's ideas...which is where I was inspired to use my mists, as well as the vintage feel of the Odds & Ends papers!

Together Again...

There is a fabulous sketch up over at Sketchy Thursdays, as well as Creative Scrappers, that you must check out! When I looked at them, I pretty much knew what I wanted to do in combining them...which is one reason I love these sites so much. Not only do they provide amazing sketches, but they also give me great motivation & inspiration for my LO's! My favorite thing about the Sketchy Thursdays sketch were the patterned strips...which got me thinking that I wanted to use the same paper, but pop some of the strips up for dimension & a little variety. I loved the effect! It is definitely something I will do again for another LO because it looks great & is super easy to do.

And speaking of dimension, it was definitely a challenge to get the swirls to lay across those popped up paper strips. I did my best, but it still looks a little off to me even after spending quite a bit of time making them fit. Oh well, overall I really like the LO - especially since the photo features two of my besties & myself at a graduation party a few months ago. I picked the title because we all used to work together. Now, that I am no longer there we don't get to see each other as much, but when we do its just like old times! I always count a true friend as someone whom you can be away from for a long time, but always pick up right where you left off...like you never missed a beat. And that's how it is with them...we just instantly start sharing and laughing, and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world! Not to mention they are both scrappers! Love ya girlies!

Live Out Loud...

Happy Tuesday y'all! I'm back to share with you a project for Your Memories Here that I'm hoping will rock your world...pun intended! :0) As y'all know I love me some Prima Marketing products, and this week I wanted to show you some versatility using Prima on this rockin' guy LO featuring our son. Usually when I use Prima, and I know most others do this too, we make everything soft, pretty, & detailed because their products are just so gorgeous. However, some of their prettiest papers have a grungier flip side that are just perfect to showcase the men in our life! And like always, you can find the most fabulous Prima products including papers, flowers, ribbons, stamps, crystals & more RIGHT HERE in the YMH Store.

One of my favorite things about this LO are the letters; I just love how they turned out when I spritzed them with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Charcoal. They almost look like metal & really have some depth to them too. I also love that I was able to recycle several items such as the corrugated cardboard stars, which used to be a coffee wrapper, and the fabric journaling spot, which was a Van's shoe tag in a previous life. I always save all the tags off our son's shoes/clothes because most of them are pretty cool & just perfect for LO's like this. It also makes the LO a little more personal. I also spritzed a little charcoal glimmer mist on the cardboard stars to help them stand out. The arrow & the cardboard stars I cut by hand using a template, then dabbed some Tim Holtz Distress Ink on them.

Supplies
Patterned Paper - Prima (blue), Junkitz (red)
Red Stars - Cricut/Indie Art Cartridge
Cardstock - Bazzill
Large Letters - Heidi Swapp
Adhesive - Glue Glider Pro, Pop Dots, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Journaling Pen - Sakura Jelly Roll (white), Sharpie (black)
Recycled - Van's Tag, Corrugated Cardboard

Thanks so very much for stopping by! Now, if you'd visit the YMH Store HERE to check out some amazing offers, that would make me super happy too! And if you're in need of some inspiration, swing on by the YMH DT Blog for ideas...the ladies over there are super talented! Make sure to check back tomorrow as I've got another LO to share with you, this one using some inspiration from Sketchy Thursdays. Plus, on Saturday I'll have another GDT post for Fresh Brewed Designs. Until then, Happy Craftin'!
