Homecoming Traditions, a Cosmo Cricket LO, & YMH!

Oh, I just love these photos of our kiddo. Are they not adorable? I knew these pics would be perfect on a LO for my Your Memories Here DT post this week. Kiddos grow up so fast & these photos are from last fall; taken in our yard right before freshman homecoming. It was definitely time to get them scrapped...lol! He & his girlfriend looked so darn adorable in their homecoming mums, which are very elaborate & a long standing tradition where we live. As you can see, the streamers are very long & some of the girls' hang past their ankles! And yes, they can get very expensive, but this year I think I'm gonna try my hand at making theirs...we'll hope for the best & I'll make sure to let you know how they turn out too. It was so much fun watching them wear them to school that day & then on to the football game where, of course, we won!

I knew I needed something special for these pics, so I turned to the Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 collection. Doesn't it just make ya swoon? I love all things Cosmo Cricket, as y'all know, & the Your Memories Here Online Store has some fab Cosmo Cricket goodies you are sure to love. Especially THIS KIT...you must get one. Now please, make me very happy by grabbing up one of the kits for yourself & sharing with me your lovely creations!! Also, the YMH Store is now carrying Tim Holtz Ideology & Distress Inks, plus some Stickles by Ranger! Ooohhh, I am so excited...lol!

Catch a Wave w/AiFactory!

Happy Thursday my crafty peeps! I'm back with another card to share with y'all, although this time my ego may need a little boost cause I'm just not feeling this card. What I am feeling for sure though is that adorable little surfer dude clip art! He is so cute & his friends that accompany him in the set are just as sweet...you can grab them from AiFactory RIGHT HERE! Okay, I actually think if it wasn't for the super cute surfer kiddo on my card, I think it would be pretty blah. I kinda like the sentiment too & I added some raindrops to jazz it up a little & make it appear like water is on his surfboard, but I am not sure about the LO. I think that is what's getting me the most. The majority of the time I truly love what I create, but every once in awhile don't ya just feel like something you made isn't quite good enough? Please tell me I'm not the only one, although I do know that I am my own worst critic. I do like my papers too & think they give the card a rustic, tribal beach feel, but what do y'all think? What's missing...do you have any suggestions?

Until next time, Happy Craftin'!!

A Summer Hello!

I've noticed lately that doilies seem to be all the rage in the papercrafting world, along with banners too. So why not create a card featuring both trendy little subjects? That is exactly what I did this week for my Your Memories Here DT project! As you know, I love me some Cosmo Cricket so this week I decided to see what I could create with simply CC scraps. And this is what I came up with! All of the patterned paper is from the YMH Cosmo Cricket Hey Sugar Kit (there are two different versions!) that you can grab RIGHT HERE. It is chock full of goodies & I still have plenty of product left after making several projects. Definitely worth $10! The pretty little doilies I picked up at a yard sale last weekend for a quarter & I've already played with them a couple times. I decided to make the banner out of circles vs. the usual pennant style so that it blended with my doilies a little better. I also used my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to spritz some white flocked letters & make them match my creation. It's a simple, summery card but I love it!

Supplies
Flocked Letters - Dollar General
Cardstock - Close to My Heart
Adhesive - Glue Glider Pro, Aileen's Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Yellow Fiber/Doilies - Stash

Make sure to hop on over to the YMH Store & check out all of the fabulous kits & other products that are offered. As well, visit the YMH DT Inspiration Blog HERE for some awesome project ideas! I'll be back later today with another post featuring some good news I'm just dying to share....until then, Happy Craftin'!
