A DCRU Girly Challenge & Some Sad News

First, make sure you check out my blog candy that I am giving away! It is some yummy American Crafts goodies and all you have to do for your chance to win is be a follower and leave a comment! Super easy...so just scroll down to that post or click here. You can enter until midnight Friday, Nov. 20th!

I think I am on pink overload thanks to an awesome challenge going on over at Die Cuts R Us! My family consists of boys - hubby, son, & even the fur baby. And, I must admit, I am not the girliest girl there is anyway either! However, this challenge peaked my interest and I decided to go gung-ho with the pink! I also have to say thanks to my crafty friend Sammye Jo, who not only turned me on to this groovy site, but who also happens to be one of their DT members. And for very good reason...she is awesome! Check out her blog too if you get a chance and you will see what I mean!

The patterned paper I used is by SU, as well as the scallop punch & the stamp. The cardstock is Bazzill, the ribbon is Offray & I used Staz On ink. The adhesive pearl, rhinestones & dragonfly bling are from my stash. I know the pearls & rhinestones came from the $1 section at Target a long time ago and the dragonfly I received in a swap, but I believe they can be found at Wal-Mart.

It was an easy card to make and I enjoyed doing it too! Especially the girly part since I don't get to do too much of that with all my guy projects! Make sure you check out DCRU and Sammye Jo's blog for some beautiful projects if you get a chance!

Now, on to some sad news unfortunately. My son's grandfather passed away yesterday. My ex-husband called me & gave us the news yesterday morning; we stayed home from work & school. It was very unexpected and he was young...just 61. The funeral will not take place until after Thanksgiving more than likely and then we will be traveling out of state for that. It is just especially sad that it happened right before Thanksgiving. So, if you could keep the family in your thoughts and prayers it would be very much appreciated. I am so thankful to have such wonderful, crafty friends that I can share things with and I just want to make sure y'all know how special you are to me! Sending hugs your way!
