A Few Cards

Well here are a few cards I recently worked on for my card sister. I am in a monthly swap through the Cricut MB and so far, I have just loved it. All of the cards are based on a Stampin' Up card layout and I just tweaked it from there. I love the fact that I can recreate a card from them with my Cricut alone. Don't get me wrong, I love their products and use them a lot too, but it is always nice when I can use my Cricut!!

For the first card, I used my Cricut Home Solutions and George cartridges for the flowers, leaves, and circle. I distressed the edges of the circle and used a rub-on for the sentiment, along with dimensional pearls and ribbon. Products used were Bazzill, Making Memories, & Michael's ribon.

For the second card, I used George to cut the flower out of red vellum and cut the tag as well. I used Stampin' Up! stamps for the word Thank and for the small flowers. I then attached a binder clip to the tag and the flower. I then used a chipboard letter U. Products used include Making Memories, Bazzill, and Michael's ribbon.

For card #3, I used Stampin' Up! stamps for the sentiment, bird, tree limbs and leaves. I absolutely adore this set! The ribbon is American Crafts and the white cardstock is generic.

For the last card, I used the Cricut Home Solutions cart for the butterfly and its shadow. I used Stampin' Up! paper & Bazzill paper, and the sentiment is a Stampin' Up! stamp too. I also used skittles and the ribbon is from Target's $1 spot.

I hope my new card sister loves her cards! I am off to make a few more for her before I mail them out!!

Valentines Paint Can Swap

I can finally post the finished Valentine's paint can I did for Cindy since she received it! Sometimes the USPS takes so long!! I was so anxious for her to get it and am happy to say that she loved not only the can, but all the goodies inside too! Now, I can't wait for mine either and she said it is on its way. So, as soon as I get mine I will post some pics for you here too!

For the paint can I used the Beyond Birthdays Cricut cart for the title and the coffee mug. I used Swiss dots to emboss the title and I also used Home Accents to cut the swirls around the can, as well as the butterflys on the back. The quote is a rub-on and the paper is from a stack my sis-n-law got me for birthday last year. I know it came from Wal-Mart and was great paper, I just can' remember who made it! I also used tulle on the paint can handle. On the lid I glued clear skittles around the edges and then used several carts to cut the hearts for the tree - I believe I used George, Paper Pups, and Beyond Birthdays. Thanks for looking!

Challenge #10 - Butterfly Wishes Card

Here is a card I made for Challenge #10 on the Whimsical Scraps and Bugs site. We had a sketch courtesy of 2sketches4you and it was a 3-2-1 challenge: three patterned papers, two embellishments, and one flower cut from any Cricut cartridge. We could do either a card or a layout.

I used a flower cut from the Home Accents cartridge & that is also what I used to cut the butterfly. The papers are American Crafts and Bazzill. I also inked the edges of the papers and pop-dotted the butterfly and the background papers. The greeting is Stampin' Up!

Hope you like this card and all the other wonderful creations the Design Team members came up with. Don't forget to check them out!

Life is Good Card

This little card was able to accomplish three things for me at one time, so I am very happy with it! It qualifies for both Mojo Monday's latest sketch challenge and for the Cuttlebug Challenge's mellow yellow challenge this week. It completed its third purpose by being a birthday card for my mom. Happy Birthday, Mom!

For this card I used the Cricut Home Accents cartrdige for the pear cut. I also used my Cuttlebug's Swirls & Birds, and Swiss dots folders on the background and the leaves. The flowers I cut out after using some Stamin' Up! Stamps. I also used Stampin' Up! for the image inside the circle, which reads "Love, Laugh." The inside of the card, which I fogot to take photos of, says "Life is good." I used several Stampin' Up! Stamps for it as well. Then I had to break out my stickles for the seeds on the pear as well as the center of the flowers and around the inside of the circle. The pear, flowers and circle tag are popdotted, two or three times in some places. I also inked the edges on the paper and most of the embellies with cofee-colored ink.

Paper products used include Stampin' Up!, Cloud Nine Designs, and The Paper Studio; ribbon used was American Crafts. My mom loved the card and I hope you do too!!

DCWV Green Stack

I have fallen in absolute love with the new Die Cuts With A View Green Stack!! I stumbled upon it yesterday at JoAnn's during my lunch break. It was the last one (not to mention the fact that it was priced 1/2 off & was only $9.99!) and I knew it was meant to be!! I love everything green & my hubby and son affectionately call me a tree hugger! So, the fact that this gorgeous paper was made from 70% recycled material made me sooo happy! Sometimes I feel as if I got hooked on the wrong hobby. A paper crafting hobby isn't necessarily the best for the environment, but with this paper I will feel a little better when I use it!
This paper is just sooo cute and I wanted to share with you a few of my fav pages from the stack. I love every single one of them, but these are really cute. I hope you think so as well and give this pretty, recycled paper a try too! Besides being adorable, the weave in the paper is exceptional and I really like its thickness as well. So, not only does it look good, it feels good to the touch.
Now, if I could just find the coordinating Green Stack chipboard shapes (and the La Creme Stack - soooo beautiful!), I would have it made!! LOL

Grow Love

I have to say this layout has now become my very fav! I took the photos of my mom and step-nephew, Coden, last spring and have had a hard time deciding how to lay them out since then. Well, earlier this week it finally just came together!

The Cricut cartridge used for this layout was Home Accents. I did a regular cut and shadow cut on the words and the pop-dotted them. Products used include Bazzill, Target and The Paper Studio papers, KI Memories butterfly bling, & Miss Elizabeth's photo corners (also pop-dotted). The flowers on the side of the layout I hand cut from a lovely piece of patterned paper that I liked.

For me this layout shows how wonderful my mother is through a photo. To me she is beautiful, strong, tender and compassionate and it shows so much. She is amazing and nothing I can say can ever do her enough justice. I love you mom!

Valentine's Mail Box

I love the little mailboxes you can find at Target's $1 Spot. I have been wanting to try my hand at altering one for awhile and decided to do one for our son, TJ, for Valentine's Day. I really liked how it turned out and know that he will really appreciate the work. Lately he has taken some interest in my crafting and has been noticing all the little details that go into projects. I hope he notices these too and not just the candy stuffed inside!

I used the Cricut Beyond Birthdays cartridge to cut the little envelope and card for the front. I love this little detail because the card comes out of the envelope and has a little note inside too! I also used the same cartridge to cut the hearts for the flag, and then used my cuttlebug to emboss them. I used Stampin' Up! ink for distressing the edges of the papers and for the card. The stamp used is KI Memories, the paper is also from Target's $1 Spot, and the ribbon is from Michael's. I also used some skittles, too.

Thanks for looking and have a Happy Valentine's Day!

A Little Sneak Peak!

Here is a sneak peak of something that I have been very busy working on lately! I have actually been a busy little craftin' bee lately! Also swamped at home and work, too, but hey, who is not swamped these days!

This is a gift for Cindy, whom I am partnered with in a Valentine Paint Can swap on the Cricut MB. It is one of MANY things included inside her paint can. I just finished her can the other day, but can't quite post it yet! I absolutely love how it turned out and hope she does too. But, I needed to post so I thought I would give a little sneak peak for everyone!

As you can tell, this is a candy bar wrapper I made. Used my Cricut & Cuttlebug for the hearts, a chipboard button heart from DCWV, some Bazzill thread, generic button, and a little ribbon from American Crafts. Paper and stickers are from Target. Making some of these for each one of my son's teachers for Valentines Day, too!

Will soon have a lot to post. Been working on the new challenge for Whimsical Scraps & Bugs, as well as a very special layout and some cards. Whew! Like I said, very busy! LOL

Check back soon to see all that I have been up to! Happy Scrapping!!
