DIY Be Merry Sign!

Happy Sunday y'all! Did you make through Thanksgiving without gaining 10lbs? I don't think I did...lol! But now that Thanksgiving has passed & we have all lived through another Black Friday to tell about it, that means Christmas is upon us! Woo-Hoo! I am soooo psyched for Christmas this year, probably since I have more time than ever before to really focus on the holiday. And since I have some more time on my hands, I figured I would whip up a little Christmas cheer with an easy to craft (you can find most of the products in the Your Memories Here Store!) sign & share it with y'all!

This little sign, believe it or not, was a mere dusty leftover cabinet door sitting in the garage until a few days ago! I simply dug it out, unscrewed the handle & hinges, and then spray painted it black everywhere but where I knew my paper would be. After it was completely dry, I Mod Podged this beautiful diecut piece of Prima paper (which I had used black ink on to distress the edges) to the board. Next, I used some Prima crystals to outline the bird & a swirl to define a branch. Then, I used some black Tattered Angels cardstock (from the Spooky Findings kit) & my Cricut to cut the phrase. I used some silver ribbon to tie on some vintage jingle bells & then hot glued some black ribbon to hang it up with. I added a vintage black button to the center of the bow & for the finishing touch, spritzed it with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl for a lovely, subtle shimmer. I just loved how it turned out!!

So, do you have some old boards or cabinets lying around your house? If so, dust them & create a simple but fun Christmas sign. It's so easy & will add the perfect touch to your holiday themed decor! And, if you want some fabulous holiday inspiration, make sure to check out the Your Memories Here DT blog!!

Make sure to visit the Your Memories Here Store for all your crafty needs...right now there is a fabulous clearance sale going on plus some awesome holiday/winter themed products you'll love! You can even add some of them onto your Christmas list! Until next time, Happy Craftin'!!

Happy Thanksgiving Crafty Peeps!!

I just wanted to take the time to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! I hope that it is filled with many wonderful blessings of faith, happiness, laughter, & love....and plenty of good food, too! I would also like to share with you a little Thanksgiving poem I found & fell in love with! Have a fantastic day!! Lots of Hugs!!

Thanksgiving by Edgar Albert Guest
Gettin' together to smile an' rejoice, An' eatin' an' laughin' with folks of your choice; An' kissin' the girls an' declarin' that they Are growin' more beautiful day after day; Chattin' an' braggin' a bit with the men, Buildin' the old family circle again; Livin' the wholesome an' old-fashioned cheer, Just for awhile at the end of the year. Greetings fly fast as we crowd through the door And under the old roof we gather once more Just as we did when the youngsters were small; Mother's a little bit grayer, that's all. Father's a little bit older, but still Ready to romp an' to laugh with a will. Here we are back at the table again Tellin' our stories as women an' men.

Bowed are our heads for a moment in prayer;
Oh, but we're grateful an' glad to be there. Home from the east land an' home from the west, Home with the folks that are dearest an' best. Out of the sham of the cities afar We've come for a time to be just what we are. Here we can talk of ourselves an' be frank, Forgettin' position an' station an' rank.

Give me the end of the year an' its fun
When most of the plannin' an' toilin' is done; Bring all the wanderers home to the nest, Let me sit down with the ones I love best, Hear the old voices still ringin' with song, See the old faces unblemished by wrong, See the old table with all of its chairs An' I'll put soul in my Thanksgivin' prayers.

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble...Pumpkin Bread Goodie Tags!

Are y'all ready for the big day tomorrow? The big eating day that is!! I am so ready for Thanksgiving & have already started by baking early so I could get some goodies to our neighbors. And, I wanted to share with you a super quick & easy, not to mention cute, idea that you could also share with friends, family, & neighbors if you wanted!

To make it easy, because Lord knows we have enough to do at this time of year, I just picked up a couple of Pilsbury Pumpkin Bread mixes at the store & grabbed some mini loaf pans (5 for $1). I whipped up the pumpkin bread (it's soooo good & I had enough leftover for a few muffins for home), tossed on a few walnut pieces & drizzled it w/some of that new Duncan Hines glaze. After they cooled, I simply wrapped them up in some plastic wrap, tied them w/some orange raffia from the stash & added a cute tag. I made the tags by using some leftover Martha Stewart leaves that I spritzed w/Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist from the Your Memories Here Store & then stamped w/an SU! sentiment/image. I just love it how they turned out & they took me less than 2 hours, start to finish for everything!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my quickie gift. I hope you & your family have the most wonderful Thanksgiving ever! Make sure to check back Sunday for my regular Your Memories Here DT post where I will be sharing some sweet Christmas home decor with you. Until then, Happy Craftin'!!

Create a Blessings Board w/YMH!

Hey y'all! I am back with my second post for the day & this time I'm really shaking it up a bit by going out of my comfort zone! This week I am gonna share with you an easy to create Blessings Board featuring some yummy products from the Your Memories Here Store. Not only this is a great decor item for Thanksgiving, you can also change it out a little as far as the background goes to make it suitable for Christmas Blessings, Spring Blessings, etc. All you need for this scrappy little project is an old frame, a little spray paint, hot glue, some scrap fabric, vintage buttons, Prima pearls & bling, & some amazing Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist & Glam. The great about this project is also that it is a great one for recycling...items you can repurpose from around the house or pick up at your local thrift store.

I started with an old framed print - I took it apart & spray painted it a lovely yellow with some Krylon I had in my stash, but that I picked up for $2 at Hobby Lobby. Next, I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Copper to rub in the crevices & add a little sparkle, as well as depth. While that was drying, I used some lovely blue glassine paper from Martha Stewart (picked up for $1 @ Hobby Lobby awhile back) to cover the cardboard & simply used tape to adhere so it would be easy to change out when I'm ready. Next, I gathered up scrap fabric & ribbon, then simply rolled them into rosettes while hot gluing along the way. After the rosettes were done, I gave them a good spritz of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl & then added some Prima pearls, Prima crystals, & vintage buttons from my stash. I adhered the rosettes with hot glue to the frame (after reassembling it & adding the glass back in, of course) and then spritzed some Martha Stewart (picked these up for 50 cents last year!) leaves with some more Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Sand & Fall Breeze. I adhered those with hot glue as well, tied on a pretty ribbon, & hung it in my newly painted hall below THIS PROJECT of me & the hubby. Easy peasy my peeps!

Now, I can simply write on the glass with a dry erase marker & wipe it away whenever I want to change it! I love having this where I can always see it...making me that much more aware of how much I truly have to be thankful for...as well, it makes it easy to write down a blessing as soon as I get the urge - or for anyone else in the family to do so, too. These have been popping up all over the web lately & I am so glad I gave one a go! I hope you pop on over to the Your Memories Here Store to pick up some awesome Prima & Tattered Angels products, as well as check out all of the other rockin' products. And definitely check out the clearance/sale items...they are awesome! You can also visit the YMH DT blog HERE. Thanks so much for stopping by & I hope to be back soon with another crafty post! Until then, Happy Craftin'!

Create Cherished Family Christmas Cards...for FREE!

Do I have an amazing deal for you my crafty peeps...and just in time for the holidays! And, I'm totally psyched to have this opportunity to share a deal with you too! I am gonna share with you a little secret to make your holidays a little less crazy & give you a little more time for the important things, like actually being with your family during the season. Pssstt...come here & let me whisper, no, let me scream....Shutterfly! Yep, that's right, I said Shutterfly. Why, you may ask? Well, guys & dolls, I am about to tell you!

See, I am one of those people who wait until the last minute to do anything....and I mean anything. Every year I say I am gonna get Christmas cards out to friends & family, and every year I never do. So very sad. But, this year is different! This year, I am rockin' & rollin' thanks to the awesomeness that is Shutterfly. See, I already have my Christmas cards done & they are on their way to my happy (& much more calmer I might add - leaving me more time to chase the dog) home where all I have to do is address the envelopes & drop them (or have hubby drop them) off at the good 'ol post office.

For those of you that don't know, Shutterfly is fabulous photo storage site that allows you to store an unlimited amount of photos for an indefinite amount of time for FREE. Yep, free! Don't ya just love free?! But not only do they offer free storage, they offer awesome items like cards, invites, photo books, & pretty much anything you can slap a picture on. What makes them great is when you join Shutterfly, you get 50 FREE 4x6 prints automatically. Cool, huh?! They also have amazing discounts on all of their holiday cards right now too (and photo books!) ...and they have a ton of designs - absolutely gorgeous, fun, modern designs. These are not your Grandma's photo Christmas cards...unless, of course, hers were really cool!! Because Shutterfly's Christmas cards are cool! Plus, at the end of this post, I am gonna share with you how YOU can get 50 FREE CHRISTMAS CARDS of your very own!! How about them apples, huh?! I know, I know, ya love me, right? Right! LOL!

What I am showing you is a tiny, not even half a percent, of the cards available...just for the holidays! That doesn't even count graduation, birthdays, greeting cards, Valentine's...I could just go on & on! And, I can't wait to show you how ours turned out; I am so very excited! The hubby helped pick them out & they do feature our fur baby while also being a little non-traditional. They should be in soon and when they arrive, I will make sure to share them with you (as well as a do a dance of joy...so warn the neighbors!) They are soooo awesome!

In the meantime, hop on over to the Shutterfly site & join in the fun. If you are not already a member, registration is easy & remember, you get 50 FREE prints just for joining. And if you would like to have a shot at getting 50 FREE Christmas cards of your own, simply check out this link HERE! It's so cool, I know! Let me know if you decide to get some of your own cards through Shutterfly this year, I would love to see them...or if you have used them before, tell me what you love about them!

Really?! 12x12 LO

Hey everyone! I'm back again this week with another LO to share with you that features a little bit of my fun side. This photo was taken on our way back from Austin, Texas in August. Hubby & I ventured there for a weekend getaway & while we didn't want to leave, we also didn't want to get stuck in a nightmare traffic jam! LOL! So, I snapped this photo to record not only the traffic jam, but the fun we had during it. Yes, I said fun! We ended up pulling off the interstate several times for shopping & food. We just rolled with flow & made an effort to enjoy ourselves no matter what..and not only did it pay off, it was definitely worth it!

The products I used on this LO are primarily from the Cosmo Cricket Road Trip collection. It is such a fun kit & so versatile...and definitely perfect for travel scrapping! I especially love the vintage feel throughout the kit! The only items that were not from the Cosmo Cricket kit were the AC Thickers I used for the title & the pop dots from my stash to give everything dimension.

So glad you popped in & took a look at my LO! And as always, thanks so much to those of you who leave me comments! I just love reading your encouraging words & feel blessed to have such wonderful scrappy friends!! Make sure to check back Sunday for my weekly Your Memories Here post, until then...Happy Craftin'!!

I'm also entering my LO in the following challenges! Make sure to check them out for great inspiration too!!

The Pink Elephant - Color Combo
Scrapping the Music - Upside Down (turned our day upside down by making a stressful moment so much fun & I love being with my hubby...no matter what circumstance!)

B2S (Back to School) 12x12 LO

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope you are all having a great start to your week! Today I wanted to share with you a LO I recently completed that features our son's first day of high school a few months ago. They grow up so very fast & I just can't believe he is already a freshman! He is such a wonderful child & we are super proud of him. He has really blossomed this year & is turning into a responsible young man...he even recently was selected (1 of only 4 boys!) to be part of his school's peer mediation program. Basically, he is going to counsel other students & we think that is just awesome! We are so totally blessed by God to have this child!

All of the products I used here are by Jillibean Soup...and I just love their paper! I happened to win a kit featuring a few of their products over the summer & wow, I was definitely impressed! Their designs & colors are so fun & right up my alley. Take a chance to check them out if you can! The only products I did use that weren't by Jillibean Soup were the vintage dictionary pages, some Old Olive SU! ink for distressing, the twine from my stash, & some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on the corrugated cardboard letters. You can find the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in the Your Memories Here Store at a great price...trust me!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today & checking out my LO!! I really appreciate all your comments & they mean the world to me...each & every one of them! Make sure to stay tuned for some more crafty posts this week as well as a big announcement on my part...super excited to share it with you too! Until then, Happy Craftin'!

Handmade Christmas Tags w/YMH!

Happy Sunday my crafty peeps! I'm back with you to share a Christmas project for Your Memories Here & hopefully inspire you to get started early on all of your holiday projects, if you haven't already. And while most of us don't want to deal with it yet, Christmas will be here before we know it & for once I am bound & determined not to start late! So on that note I would like to share with you a set of Christmas tags I made this week featuring some fabulous Prima, Tattered Angels, Cricut, & Imaginisce products you can find in the Your Memories Here Store.

Every year I say I am gonna make handmade gift tags & never do, but this year I was inspired by some beautiful tags in my current Scrapbooks Etc. magazine. These tags are super easy to make & help you use up some of that stash too! I used Prima lace, ribbon, pearls, polka dot patterned paper & the cute checkerboard background stamp that you can find HERE in the YMH Store. The black cardstock is by Tattered Angels & can actually be found in the Spooky Findings Kit...I told you that rockin' kit was soooo versatile!! Visit the YMH Store HERE to see all the fab, and some new, Tattered Angels products & kits. The beautiful Believe stamp set is by Imaginisce & I just love it! You snag the stamp, at an amazing price ($1.25), right HERE in the YMH Store. I also used my Cricut for a few of the die cuts & you can check out YMH's Cricut inventory HERE. The rest of the items were just from my stash & most were scraps! My favorite thing though are the little jingle bells...love that holiday sound!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by & check out my project this week! I really do hope it inspires you to create your own Christmas tags or get started early on your holiday projects. And don't forget to stop by the Your Memories Here Store and the Your Memories Here DT blog too! So much fabulous inspiration at both places! Happy Craftin'!

I'm also entering my Christmas tags into the following challenges! Make sure to visit them for some fabulous inspiration!
